Midland Boilercare Ltd initially started out in 1989 as Heating & Gas Services, a small company owned and run by David Hickey. However, in 2002 David felt the trading title of Heating & Gas Services no longer defined our dedicated role within the heating industry, and so the process of evolving into Midland Boilercare Ltd began.
Safety is always paramount in the work that we carry out, and as such our commitment to safety was demonstrated when the company was approved in 1989 by the gas safety body, CORGI whilst it was still a voluntary organisation. CORGI has since changed to the GasSafe Register, and we are proud to retain our registration number of 5623, signifying our long term commitment to safety.
With new appliances being released every year and both safety and energy efficiency regulations changing constantly, we have always prided ourselves on ensuring all of our Service Engineers are trained to the current levels to satisfy the high demands of our ever changing industry.
Our training commitments do not stop at our own staff. Having been the UK Technical Manager for a prominent boiler manufacturer, David also carries out independent training on Combination boiler fault finding for Hybrid Technical Services during both their high intensity New Entrants courses to retrain leavers from the Armed Forces and also their dedicated Combination Boiler courses.
Although we do not normally contract out our work, we may use subcontractors for specific aspects of our work where we do not hold the relevant competencies (e.g. Electrical contractor).
